Pokémon TCG Update: Chaos Rising, Pitch Black, Storm Emerald & the Road to 30th Anniversary

The Pokémon TCG hype train continues to gain momentum, and there are some incredible releases on the horizon that collectors and players should be paying close attention to.

First up is Chaos Rising, one of the hottest recent releases in the hobby. The set features several highly sought-after chase cards, including stunning Greninja cards that have quickly become collector favorites. As a longtime fan of the Froakie evolution line, I'm especially excited to see Froakie finally getting some well-deserved love in this set. Whether you're ripping packs or hunting singles, Chaos Rising has plenty of cards worth chasing.

Looking ahead, the next major release will be Pitch Black, arriving on July 17th. This set is packed with dark-themed artwork and some absolutely beautiful cards. The standout Pokémon for me is Darkrai, and I fully intend to build a complete master set. Early previews have already generated significant excitement, and this is shaping up to be one of the most visually impressive releases of the year.

Beyond Pitch Black, expectations are sky-high for Storm Emerald, the upcoming Rayquaza-focused set. Rayquaza has always been one of the most popular Pokémon in the hobby, and collectors are already anticipating this release as one of the biggest sets of the year. Many believe it could rival fan-favorite releases such as Ascended Heroes and even the upcoming 30th Anniversary set.

Speaking of the 30th Anniversary set, anticipation is reaching a fever pitch. Following Storm Emerald, this milestone release is expected to create massive FOMO throughout the Pokémon community. Between nostalgia, limited availability concerns, and the significance of celebrating 30 years of Pokémon, many collectors are already preparing for what could become one of the most sought-after modern releases ever produced.
